It’s a word that sums up how we approach business and life outside of work. Philanthropy has been an important part of Hagie, which is why we began The Hagie Foundation. We’re proud to continually renew our commitment to our community by going the extra mile to do some good. From donating to school lunch programs to annual holiday giveback, when we have the opportunity to help, we take action. Problem-solving is what we’re all about, after all.
We step up for our community. In the wake of the COVID-19, we donated face shields to local emergency and health professionals. When Hagie corporate donated to local food pantries throughout north-central Iowa, employees did too, so we enacted a dollar-for-dollar match to keep the good growing.
Hagie has a long history of providing annual $7,000 donations to local school districts to provide fresh fruit and veggies to middle and high school students to supplement their hunger throughout the day. These funds also provide nutritious afterschool snacks for children grades K-12.
Each year, we award two high school seniors the Hagie Foundation Scholarship Award. This award recognizes students for their hard work and provides them with support to continue their education. These $1,500 scholarships are renewable for up to three years, totaling $6,000 per student.
We’re proud to support young women in their pursuit of a career in STEM and agriculture. That’s why Hagie hosts Women in Manufacturing/Engineering Day presentations at the Hagie office to grade school-aged girls. Additionally, during Engineering Week, middle school classes are invited to learn about the various options of engineering career paths.
Conservation of our land is something that is very important to our company. That’s why Hagie staff organizes clean-up crews annually at our headquarters in Clarion, Iowa. These crews help haul away large items for those who can’t, as well as participate in highway clean-ups through Adopt-A-Highway, river clean-ups and local park clean-ups.
The holidays are a special time where Hagie takes part in many community activities including winter clothing drives, preparing and serving Thanksgiving meals to those in need and more.
